Zusammenfassung

Stroke is one of the main pathologies that cause the highest number of deaths and disability among the population. Two major types of stroke can be distinguished: ischemic and hemorrhagic. Among the main risk factors, we find age or ethnicity, diseases such as high blood pressure or diabetes and sedentary lifestyles. A rapid detection and initiation of treatment in people who have suffered a stroke increase the probability of survival and reduce the disability derived from it. Among the consequences derived from stroke we can find aphasia, dysphagia, motor and sensory dysfunctions or cognitive disability. Each of these consequences should be treated or managed by the relevant professional.
