Abstract

Physical examination and attention to the pain felt by the patient must be two of the essential factors in the assessment of any injury. This, together with the necessary radiological tests, leads the specialist to an accurate diagnosis of the consequences of the sports accident. However, in the case of a child or adolescent, there is a tendency to minimise the damage, which can delay the diagnosis and, therefore, the treatment. We present the case of an adolescent who suffers a football injury and whose correct diagnosis was delayed for more than seven months, extending the duration and severity of symptoms.
