Zusammenfassung

Spain’s increasingly aging population has a social problem with the elderly and the disabled. All of them need care at home, which, in most cases, is provided by family members. This informal care is often provided by women to men in the same family, creating a significant social gender inequality. However, with the incorporation of women into the world of work, this has become more complicated. This could be addressed with appropriate social and health services. These services are increasingly advocating care in one’s own environment. It is essential to support caregiver training and support services to prevent caregiver overload, as caregivers often suffer from burnout.
