Abstract

This article presents the results of a qualitative research which had for objective to understand the importance of motor learning in the processes of rehabilitation. We used techniques of analysis of contents of documents, articles and books on the conceptual referents chosen: motor control, motor learning and technology in rehabilitation. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with experts in the field and the institutions of Mobility Group High-tech Rehabilitation Center, La Colemba, Media Lab and Escuela Colombiana de Rehabilitación. As a result it was found that the technology as therapeutic support and training of the motor skills can improve the effectiveness and efficiency of programs of rehabilitation, can be personalised interventions, with greater accuracy in the results and can be done a systematic tracking of the processes. By incorporating the motor learning in the processes of rehabilitation technology it is necessary that the processes therapeutic plan as a training engine and should work together with other professions of engineering as biomedicine, biotechnology, bioengineering, assistive technology and with graphic designers, audiovisual and industrial to achieve motor experiences that trigger the majority of the senses and the emotional memory.
