Resum

The aim of this paper is to open a broad discussion between marxist political economy and Modern Money Theory. For that purpose it is essential to show the actual validity of marxism despite the new developments of Modern Money Theory, specially regarding the theory of value, the theory of capital and exploitation and the different explanations of capitalist crisis. The interesting positions and results of Modern Money Theory can be embodied in the basis of a marxist analysis precisely as a contribution to a subject that was not developed enough by Marx: the economic role of the State in modern capitalism.
