Zusammenfassung
The article aims to explore the standardization processes of archival description developed in Portugal and Brazil. The paper analyses generals and internal features of the Guidelines for Archival Description and the Brazilian Archival Description Standard. For this purpose, it describes aspects relating to the theoretical principles, description en tities, mandatory elements, structure, contents and the standard's typology. Finally, it establishes the analogies, the differences and the contributions between these normative texts and the international standards.
