Abstract
This article briefly reviews how Escuelas oficiales de idiomas collaborate with several education authorities as training institutions in foreign languages for teachers. After that, it presents a specific example of an English Refresher Course for teachers, Level B2 which has been running for some school years now. Then a series of guidelines and recommendations that should be taken into account when first asked to teach a course of this type are put forward. Finally, the findings of a survey completed by some of the participants in the course taken as reference in the article are analysed.
