This study investigates the main characteristics of the so-called "Tárrega School". Although some historians deny its existence, there are enough indications that demonstrate a methodological coherence. The work analyzes more than a thousand autograph pages of Francisco Tárrega, as well as personal correspondence between friends and disciples. Also examines and compares historical recordings in its different media (phonograph, gramophone and tape). The evidence has become facts and not only shows that it did exist and there is such a "school" or methodology, but also reveals the interpretative aesthetics of it. The expressive resources used by Francisco Tárrega are revealed from this material. Aesthetics inherited by guitarists as illustrious as Miguel Llobet, Emilio Pujol, Daniel Fortea or Josefina Robledo.
