Résumé
This paper deals with the initial training of future secondary school mathematics teachers about the measurement of finite lengths using the method employed in the Pythagorean school. After a thorough historical analysis, a didactic engineering was designed with the aim of using the history of calculus to achieve a more in-depth training of future teachers. This has made possible to deal with aspects such as the infinite decomposition of a segment and the concept of infinitely small magnitude in the case where this length is an irrational number. The conclusions indicate that, although initially the subjects did not consider the use of infinite processes, when they were confront
