Abstract
This research work involves an attempt to find out what were the financial contributions of the City of A Coruña and its province to the cause of King Felipe V. What was the fiscal, social, and economic effort that the inhabitants of our territory had to endure in such a long conflict (1701-1714), taking into account the characteristics of the city of A Coruña and its province with an eminently rural environment, with a scatteredpopulation, and with sources of production directly related to the primary sectors, except those commercial activities generated by port and maritime traffic in the city. The study refers to the first years of the conflict, 1701 - 1706.
