Abstract

Since the approval of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, in November 1989, Ecuador, like the vast majority of Ibero-American countries, followed a process of first ratifying and then adapting its legislation on children. In this work, a summary of the system of responsibility for adolescent offenders in Ecuador is made, analyzing its regulatory framework, the operators of the system, the alternatives to the sentence and the measures and their execution, as well as the jurisprudence of the Constitutional Court and the recommendations made by the Committee on the Rights of the Child
