Zusammenfassung

Community accompaniment is mentioned both in the Ratio fundamentalis institutionis sacerdotalis and in the Plan de formación sacerdotal of the Spanish Bishops Conference, something that represents a certain novelty in the training pro-cess of seminarians. It is necessary to specify what this community support consists of, since neither of the two documents specifies it.The community dimension of seminary formation has always been necessary, because it has to do with the essence of the ordained ministry, but today it becomes even more urgent, due to various rea-sons.Social psychology is an instrument that can help establish some criteria to make a community of seminarians truly a formative instrument that helps the candidate in his vocational discernment and to form him as a missionary disciple, since these are the two purposes of all accompaniment.
