Zusammenfassung

Third Mission (3M) activities are usually classified in relation to research (technology transfer and innovation), teaching (lifelong learning), as well as university involvement in communities (social engagement). The objective of this study is to describe and compare the activities of 3M in 66 European and Latin American universities. The most remarkable result is the high social commitment developed by Latin American universities.
