Résumé
In the 18th century, medical dictionanes underwent a change that took hold during the 19th century and consisted of abandoning previous periods practices related to macrostructure an microstructure , to content to the languages involved in their preparation and even to the way they were conceived. This led to the development of different lexicographical genres, som more closely linked to the transmission of new concepts (such as encyclopaedic repertories) and others related to the establishment of the new terms with which these concepts were accompani'ed (such as terminological vocabularies). In this paper, we pay special attention to the reasons for the flourishing of these works and we also take into consideration those that explain the different levels of success they achieved in different places.
