Abstract

Teachers play a crucial role in educating future generations and must be equipped to teach and guide students in an increasingly technology-driven world. However, in many cases, teachers lack the necessary preparation to effectively address and apply technological changes in their academic environments, as evidenced by the integration of artificial intelligence. The objective of this project, developed within the framework of the UNESCO Chair 2023, was to enhance teacher training in the use of artificial intelligence tools, through the design, prototyping and development of an open educational resources platform oriented to this end. To achieve this purpose, a qualitative-oriented innovation methodology called Play2Train4C was used, which includes the conceptualization and development of the project in 8 stages. The development of the project makes visible the challenges faced by teachers and higher education institutions, mainly related to: (a) lack of adequate training in the use of artificial intelligence and how to apply it in their educational experience, (b) financial and logistical limitations to acquire and maintain the technologies, (c) difficulty in adapting new pedagogical approaches that take advantage of the potential of AI, (d) approaching technologies in an ethical and responsible manner to ensure the safety and well-being of the students, and (e) the need to use the technologies in a safe and responsible manner to ensure the safety and security of the students, (f) the need to use the technologies in the classroom, (g) the need to use the technologies in the classroom, and (h) the need to use the technologies in an ethical and responsible manner to ensure the safety and well-being of the students.
