El grupo de investigación de ingeniería energética tiene como objetivo el desarrollo de investigación básica y aplicada en el campo de la eficiencia energética y las energías renovables. El dominio de actuación abarca las propiedades termodinámicas y de transporte de nuevas mezclas fluidas (tales como combustibles y biocombustibles, refrigerantes, fluidos caloportadores, materiales de cambio de fase), almacenamiento de energía térmica, eficiencia energética en la edificación y la industria, auditorías energéticas, potencial de uso de energías renovables en edificios y para generación eléctrica y nuevos sistemas de abastecimiento energético con energías renovables.
