Resumen

Partiendo de la consideración del desarrollo de nuevos productos como capacidad dinámica, el presente trabajo identifica las diversas opciones que dicho proceso puede presentar y analiza sus posibles efectos, integrando aportaciones dispersas y a veces contradictorias, observadas en la literatura reciente. Como principales conclusiones, se recomienda a las empresas y, en particular a las Pymes, que, considerando el proceso de desarrollo de nuevos productos como vía de aprendizaje y renovación para enfrentarse a entornos dinámicos, seleccionen la opción más apropiada a las condiciones del entorno. En último término se destacan los beneficios de combinar nuevo conocimiento con aquello que ya se conoce y posee.
