Zusammenfassung
Geological trails are a key educational resource to awaken the interest on Earth Sciences of High School students. In this contribution we present two geological trails through the central-eastern Cantabrian Mountains (Rodríguez-Rodríguez et al., 2018 and 2019): from the San Isidro Pass to Puebla de Lillo (León) and a circular trail around Covandonga lakes (Picos de Europa). Each one is a one-day fieldtrip consisting of eight stops distributed along a 6-8 km route to do observations regarding rocks, geological structures, geomorphology, and geosphere-biosphere interactions. The activity might be com- plemented with a classroom exercise, so that students can build in group the geological history of the territory from all the observations they have made during the field trip, encouraging the implementation of theoretical knowledge and constructive discussion of observations.
